Daily Deviation PSD
Posted in Pseudoart on April 21st, 2009
As my newest wallpaper, Growth, unexpectedly got a Daily Deviation at Deviantart, I got asked a lot of times for the original render, techniques and such. I thought I'd give a little bit back to the community, by letting people see the original PSD. I remember when my Photoshop skills were a bit rough, and seeing other peoples PSD really helped me out.
Therefore, the full resolution PSD of Growth can be downloaded here. Feel free to ask questions here on the blog and I'll answer the best I can. It is a 15 mb download and in Photoshop CS4 format.
I were quite surprised at the DD, though, as this wallpaper has been lying on harddisk for nearly a year, and I didn't really like it that much. I added some additional grading and texture and then released it anyhow.

Drawing on walls
Posted in Personal on April 11th, 2009

As I recently posted in the Portfolio, I'm currently doing artsy stuff on my livingroom wall. I expect to have another afternoons work in front of me before I can call it a done deal. While I have worked on things like this before, it's the first time I do it directly on a wall. It's a lot of fun. I'll also record the second session as I did with the first, and conclude it all with an blog post about methods used, as well as detailed shots of the whole thing.
I also expect to do the same thing on my lavatory, the office and my bedroom. The office is slated to become my daughters room in a few years time. She's currently living with her mother who's in a different part of the country for the time being. My plans with the office is to go Hello Kitty on the thing. Also, PINK! Lavatory will be organic, trees, birds, water and all that. However, I'm a bit unsure about what to do with the bedroom. I'm open for suggestions though! :)

Friend Morten finally got his portfolio online. Stop by and ganker at his stuff - personally, I'm into his analogue stuff.
I'm updating links the next couple of days, so feel free to send me your site for linkage.

Huge site update
Posted in Pseudoart on April 2nd, 2009
I've finally finished a massive update. My portfolio is now online, as well as an extensive tag system. All wallpapers, portfolio items and blog posts are cross referenced through tags. This does make the tag page a bit ugly, due to the different ways of showing those three seperate sections, but it will have to do, for now. The RSS feed is still missing the portfolio, though - but it will come soon.
Thank you for your patience - I hope you'll enjoy.

T-shirt pimpage
Posted in Links on March 31st, 2009

The one piece of clothing I own that outnumber any other is my T-shirts. Black, blue, green, yellow, red, white and browns. In huge numbers. I'm a sucker for tees, and I rarely throw any of them out (unfortunatly).
Here's a bunch of links to cool unique shirts.

Wow. This is the reason you want to include captcha or other human indentification tests on your submission forms. That forum is just crawling (pun intended) with spambots.
In2media won a Creative Circle Award, which is the second one we've won. This time it was for Normann-Copenhagen, which also got an FWA some time back.
I also have the pleasure of having added a new wallpaper to the site last night. It was a remix of two unfinished walls, and I think it turned out just fine and somewhat creepy yet fun.

Site updates coming soon
Posted in Pseudoart on March 23rd, 2009
I've been working on getting my portfolio up, but it will take at least a few more days to get everything in order. Besides having to do a player for the video work, I also have to screendump a bunch of stuff and write a lot of text. But at least the backend in is place for it now. I've managed to conjure up some nifty Ajax stuff, which I'll be blogging about at a later time. I'll also share some code, mostly custom connectors I've written to various jQuery plugins. Usually there's PHP connectors included, but rarely there's Cold Fusion ones.
But as I said, it'll take some time. Still no new wallpapers ready - I'm struggling, actually. Having learned a few new tricks, I'm trying to employ them, but so far I've failed in my attempts. As you might've guessed from my previous ones, I rarely do the same thing many times around. If I do, it's with a big twist or an enhancement of previous works.
In other news, my old web co-host, Precurser, released his first wallpaper of 2009. Go check it out, nifty stuff.

How I lost my rocking hair
Posted in Personal on March 20th, 2009
In the past, I'd often cut my own hair for extended periods of time. I started doing that about a year ago again. I think it's the creative drive that does it, and the fact that hairdressers never seem to get it just right. I've never had any problems, it has always turned out just fine.
This time, however, things were to change.

Games is Satanic Evil

Hillarious article at destructoid. It's a great read for anyone, really, but especially if you've been following the Jack Thompson controversy, and the whole videogames are bad for our children statement. Eventually, it'll bleed out, just like the whole Heavy Metal made my child commit suicide did.

Blog update
Posted in Pseudoart on March 16th, 2009
I've added comments to the blog. You really should comment on anything, just to register your handle or name. Otherwise, someone might beat you to it. I've tried a different solution this time, comment posting is handled with Ajax, and as such, you currently need JavaScript to post. Not to worry, eventually I will enable regular posting as well, but it's sort of an experiment. I'd like to see if I can beat the spambots this way, and if it works properly.
Also, there will be an option to remember your details soon. Just working out the kinks with jquery cookies.
